Mr. Jones, as all great golfers know, the downswing must be started with the hips pulling the arms which in turn pull the hands and club from the top. This motion is critical to keeping the club underneath the swing plane and striking the back of the ball.

Mr. Jones points out three errors in the golf swing most amateur golfers make when initiating their downswing. 1. Reverse weight shift 2. Starting their downswing from the top with their right hand or arm 3. A flying right elbow at the top ~ All of these errors tend to cause the swing to push out and above the swing plane and prevent a solid strike of the ball in the back toward the intended target.
